Objectives: 

*   Students will understand a song about the family.

*   Students will identify and use vocabulary regarding the family and personal descriptions.

*   Students will identify the forms of the verbs tener and ser.

 

1.  Cancion:  La familia. 

*   We will listen to the song and

*   students will follow along with the lyrics on the overhead. 

*   Students will find cognates in pairs.

 

2.  Vocabulary review:  tic-tac-toe. 

*   Students will play in pairs. 

*   Teacher will say a word in English and students will take turns writing the Spanish word in the tic-tac-toe boxes. 

*   The winning partner will receive pesos!

 

3.  Introduction:  los verbos tener y ser.  We will create a verb chart on the board for each verb.

 

4.  WAVA:  Writing activity 5-C.

 

Tarea: 

1.    Estudiar (vocab quiz, pages 154-155 and 158-159 tomorrow!)

2.    Description of 1 family member (including his/her name, age, physical characteristics, likes/dislikes, and relation to you)

3.    Continue looking for photos of your family that you may want to use in your family photo album
