*Objetivos:

 

1. Escucha y lee una canción en español (Listen and read along to a song in Spanish) "La Historia de Juan" Encuentra los verbos en el pretérito.  (-ó)    por Juanes

 

4. Practicar una lectura en español e inglés "¿PADRE, HIJO O CABALLO?" - EN GRUPOS – Leer en voz alta y actuar (read aloud and act out).

 

5.  Review the Present Tense of Regular Verbs – Workbook “Español Esencial” –    Chapter 1 – go through all exercises from pages 1-9

 

5. Write in journals – Which is your favorite class and why – what things do you DO in that class (use the present tense)

I.  Pundemonium: I read about a sophisticated mousetrap device that lures mice into the trap with soft music.  It plays a catchy tune.

II.  Song - “La Historia de Juan” – canción por Juanes

*                      CD is already in the stereo, ready to just push “play”

*                      Have students get out the sheets with the words that they wrote      yesterday

*                      Have students listen to the song,  follow along on their word       sheets and underline all of the verbs in the PRETERITE tense

*                      In journals – re-write the song in the PRESENT TENSE.

III.  Review Spanish Words from the story ¿Padre, Hijo o Caballo? 

*                      Students practice reading the story aloud in pairs – each student in the pair reads ½ of the story while the other listenes and critiques pronunciation – then they reverse roles and the other student reads.

*                      Work within group to create a “drama” to act out the story.  Do this like we did the story last week.  Narrator reads the story while the actors act out the story.

*                      Select roles and then PRACTICE once in groups before performing for the class.

V.          Journal – write on this topic:  What is your favorite class so far this year and why.  What do you do in that class (present tense).
