Standards Based Biology
Course Rational and Outline

Rational: Biology is a yearlong course that satisfies the life science (10 credit hours) Poudre School District graduation requirement. The course covers the district standards as well as the Colorado state standards. This course will prepare students to pursue higher-level life science courses.
Course Outline:
This course will cover Colorado state standards 1,3, 5 and 6.
Students will cover the following topics (please see the monthly syllabus on this website for a day by day breakdown of material covered):

1. Science as a way knowing-The scientific method
2. Technology -how it influences our world and understanding of Biology
3. Structure follows function and is as a result of adaptation
