Ongoing Extra Credit Assignments:

A student seeking extra credit may do so by following these criteria:

* Write a 1 - 2 page essay answering the question; "why do we need to know this stuff anyway?". For example; if we are learning about spectroscopy, a student should report on a particular use, either past, present, or future, for spectroscopy in our world AND why that use is important.

*The report must be typed and turned in electronically via email. In the subject header, the student should put his/her name, the words "extra credit for why I need to know about __________" (fill in blank with appropriate subject), and the period the student attends.

*Each report is worth UP TO 15 points. There will be a maximum of 40 extra credit points available per quarter.

*There will also be occasional extra credit questions posted on this page. Point value will be designated with the question.

*Extra Credit answers to the posted questions must also be turned in via email with the subject header reading "extra credit answer", student name, and period #.

*The extra credit answers MUST have the question and point value typed out.

Extra Credit Question: (2 points) Is there a center to the universe? If so, where?
