College campus visits – what do I look for= ?

Enrollment size, atmosphere, programs of study, athletics a= nd activities you can be involved in.  Also, getting a feel for the town and whether or not you feel comfortable there is very important.  A campus visit is a very good idea if you are planning to spend 4 ye= ars at a school.

What is the difference between a grant, loan and scholarship?

A loan is money that is borrowed and paid back, grants and scholarships are gifts, and not paid back.

You can apply using the FAFSA beginning in January.

 

What is the FAFSA? Do I have to do it?

Everyone should fill out the free FAFSA form to determine the amount of aid they will receive from particular schools.

 

What is the WUE?.

It is called the Western Undergraduate Excha= nge program.  It provides in-state tuition rates for certain out of state schools.

 

What is the COF? You mean the state will pay par= t of my in-state tuition?   

          The COF is= the College Opportunity fund.  You= can sign up at

          www.collegeincolorado.org.  You will need your social security number to sign

          up.  All in state students are entitled to= this money, so sign up!

 

How do I pick a major?

What does it mean to be a first generation stude= nt? Is there any money available?
