Six "Signs" You
Have a Bogus Scholarship Search Program
- The
scholarship is guarenteed or your money back. Refund guarentees oftend
have conditions or strings attached.
- "You
can't get this information anywhere else." There are thousands
of scholarships you can research through free means.
- "May
I have your credit card or bank account number to hold this scholarship."
- "We'll
do all the work." You must apply for scholarships or grants
yourself.
- The
scholarships will cost some money. Don't pay anyone who claims to
be "holding" a scholarship or grant for you.
- You've
been selected by a national foundation to receive a scholarship,
or "You're a finalist" - in a contest you never entered.
Make sure the foundation/program is legitimate.
