The Portfolio System
AP Language & Composition
- Each portfolio will include
five (5) final essays/think pieces
- All assignments must be typed
- All assignments must also be
submitted to Turnitin.com
- Portfolios will be turned in
at the end of the five sequence
- Portfolios must be submitted
in a pocket folder clearly identified with name and class period
- Drafts of these essays will
due at the beginning of class (due dates will be announced and posted) and
are necessary for admittance to class. We will use
these drafts as the basis of our class discussion
- You may revise any draft
prior to submitting the final portfolio. I would highly suggest this,
especially after we have had a chance to discuss topics in class. Push
your analysis and writing.
Grading
- Each portfolio is worth 100
points
- I will use the portfolio
matrix that you print from the class website (these must be included in
the portfolio)
- Indicate on the matrix one
of the five assignments YOU wish to have graded for 60 points
- I will take this request into
consideration when I grade the portfolio
- The remaining four
assignments will be quickly reviewed for completeness and will receive
10 points each

count for one of the 60 points
