HEALTH OFFICE PROCEDURES
Students coming to the health office during class time need to have a Permit to Visit Health Office, signed by their teacher.
Students coming to the health office during class time without a permit will be sent back to class.
Exceptions include obvious trauma, such as profuse bleeding. Use your judgment. All classrooms have a supply of band-aids; there is no need for a student to come to the health office for minor wounds, during class time.
Students do not need a permit to visit the health office in the following situations:
During lunch recess
Before/After school
During a free period
In the event of a medical emergency*
*Acute symptoms: Severe injury. Passing out/fainting. Loss of vision. Vomiting. Difficulty breathing. Choking. Again, use your judgment; do not send a student back to class for a permit if they are in distress.

Did your teen ask you to call the attendance line and excuse them from class because they were in the health office? Please check with us before excusing them - 488-6305. We track all students visiting us. We log their arrival and departure times as well as any treatment received and symptoms they reported. We try to let attendance know if we send a student home or keep them for an extended time, but it is always good to make the call - 488-6270.
Kirsten works in the Fossil Ridge health office everyday from 11-2. Kirsten is the main contact for the Fossil Ridge health office.
Nancy Weber is a PSD School Nurse and Nurse coordinator for PSD. Nancy is usually in the Fossil Ridge health office on Mondays.
Rhonda Woodall (receptionist) and Jo Taggart (Attendance Clerk) are trained in basic first aid, CPR and medication administration. They cover the health office when Kirsten and Nancy are unavailable.
