Energy Drinks are popular among the teen crowd, a very scary trend. We regularly see students in the health office who are jittery, shaky, have major headaches and racing hearts as a direct result of drinking these concoctions. Click HERE learn more about the dangers of energy drinks.
Mononucleosis
Several Fossil students have been diagnosed with Mono this school year. Commonly known as the "kissing disease". Mono can present itself in many different ways. It frequently looks like flu or strep but always leaves the patient extremely tired all the time. Mono is spread through saliva ~ hence the nickname ~ sharing eating utensils and drinking from the same cup can spread this disease too.
