FOODS & THE FOOD INDUSTRY
COURSE
DESCRIPTION: This hands-on course will develop skills in
foods preparation and prepare students for entry-level positions in the food
service industry. Areas of study will
include: Bakery Industry, Salad
Preparation, Meat Cutting and Preparation, Dessert Bar, Entrée Selection, Food
Safety, Nutrition, Cancer and Heart Disease Prevention, Hospitality Industry,
Food Consumerism, Careers in Food Service, and other units. There
is a $6.00 fee for this class.
