WHAT A GREAT SEASON!
Smokey Hill Defeated the Lambkin nine on Friday by a score of
9-1 to end the Fort Collins season. The Lambkins were only able to
get 4 hits during the game and a Chris Roth single plated Brad
Stricker with the lone run. Joe Monty, Mitch Mirtsching, and Alex
Ogilvie collected the other 3 hits. Brandon Bailey started on the
mound and was the losing pitcher giving up 7 hits walking 4 and
hitting 3 batters in 5 2/3 innings of work, Steve Selby finished the game
getting the last 4 outs without a run. The Lambkin defense, usually
dependable committed 4 errors which accounted for 4 unearned runs.
Seven Lambkins were selected All Conference by the Northern League
Coaches. They were: Seniors Dale Kasel, Devin Warner, Chris Roth, Matt
Bathurst, Juniors Joe Monty, Alex Ogilvie, and Brandon Bailey.
Congratulations to all they fine young men.
What a great season the kids had winning the Northern Conference
Championship, The District Title, and the Regional Title before losing in
the Semifinal game vs Smokey Hill.
