Library Systems

PSD uses Innopac to catalog books and other media. I used the web-based nature of Innopac and intertwined a web database of Accelerated Reader tests. Students are able to view the lists of AR tests, click on a test, and be brought to the library lookup for that title to ascertain status and location. The primary result is that a student is able to obtain an appropriate "AR book" in less time. Students may also easily examine other sites for availability along with being able to access this web resource from other community libraries. The end result is that the student is able to find the appropriate AR book more quickly which, of course, allows more time devoted to reading!
