Video Development
Dr.
Wes Leggett
This course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills necessary to design and develop video instruction using analog and digital video equipment. Attention is given to learning about adaptive and legal issues in video instruction and assessing and addressing diversity.
This course is designed to prepare learners to make decisions regarding the use of video instruction in support of content standards, learning, and assessment in early childhood through 12th grade classrooms as well as corporate and business training environments. Learners work independently to become proficient in beginning, intermediate, or advanced skills and in specialized content area and grade level or adult training applications. They design and develop video instructional materials to meet the educational needs of diverse groups of learners.
This course can be taken for 2 credits or 3 credits. Learners enrolling select 2 or 3 credit hours based on their particular individual goals for growth in instructional technology.
This is a project-based class and there are no tests. I will provide online materials for you to read through and links to assist you in learning the techniques you will be using for this class . You will be spending a tremendous amount of time creating your video instructional projects. These projects require you to invest lots of work time, so please be mindful of this as you set your own work schedule. In other words, don't wait a week before an assignment is due to start working on it. You will soon find yourself overwhelmed, frustrated, and panicked.
Several instructional methodologies will be employed in this class, including:
