December 2003

"Yes, Daddy, we know it's a week before Christmas, but we leave tomorrow and you know you really don't want to have to load up our presents and take them with us, right???"

"Oh Daddy, you're the best!!!"

"Ooooooo, check out Sissy's new bracelet and Mommy's new bracelet."

"Oh yeah, Grandma and Grandpa know our favorite games!"
"I think I'll be playing this...FOREVER!"
Mima and Papa's Campground site #1.
Sultry Southwest Missouri -
Back to our annual campsite spot. This year, it feels like summer, compared to last year when we arrived in the middle of a blizzard.

"Hey Dad, look! No three foot drifts around Shadow this time!"
"Oh Daddy, look at the friendly horses!"
"They seem to really like Tuxie!"
"Look, Daddy, one of them is letting Tuxie lick her face! He's giving her kisses!"
"Hey there, sweetheart!"
Christmas Eve - Our annual clan gathering.

"Everyone is growing up so fast I don't recognize all these tall people standing behind me!"

Christmas Morning - Our annual stockings.

"We can't wait to see what Mommy stuffed in this year!"

My former student (1990-92), Jason, holds the Emmy Award he won for a story he shot and edited for his news station in Orlando. Jason was one of my star pupils in my middle school media program. He also assisted in my summer media classes. On the right is Dave, my long-time friend and colleague (and often mistaken as my twin), who was Jason's media teacher in high school. On the left is Tim, another long-time friend (who looks like I did 20 years ago), who with Dave runs Camp STN, a summer program for teachers that I guest instruct for. It was great to see Jason during his visit and to hold an Emmy in my hands. Way to go, Jason!!!
"Happy Birthday, Sissy!"
"Can I open my presents next to Mima's fireplace?"

"Did someone say, 'Horses'? Don't tease me!"

Wild Willy's Go Carts.
Bright and Balmy Branson.

"Hi Mommy! Daddy and I both have steering wheels, but he has the gas and brake pedals."

"Oh yeah, let's get this race ON!"

After being in "The Tropics" for two weeks, it was a harsh reality returning through a blizzard in eastern Colorado and using 4WD on the slick roads to arrive home safely--albeit to a wind chill below zero, brrrrrr!

"Oh Daddy, Midnight and Shadow are a mess! There's dirty frozen snow and ice stuck everywhere...yuk! They need a bath!"
