January
Sheeps Lake, Rocky Mountain
National Park.
The MLK Holiday gave us a chance to do one of our favorite one day
getaway visits to Estes Park and RMNP.
"Look Daddy, there are tons of elk grazing on the open field--and
that one was just looking straight at me!" |
 |
Alluvial Fan, Rocky Mountain
National Park.
"I can't keep my eyes open, Honey, because they are watering so much from
the icy wind!" |
 |
"The Roaring River isn't
roaring, Dad, it's frozen!" |
 |
"Mommy, look at the rainbow
behind you!" |
 |
"Cool Dad, look at the snow
clouds rolling in!" |
 |
"Hi, Daddy, the last day of
January and another really good snowfall! Do you see Tuxie
watching each one of the HUGE flakes land right in front of his nose? He
loves the snow!!!" |
 |
February
The Hills of Mountain View.
The first eight days of February saw four days of snowfall. We had
a beautiful day for snow tubing.
"Uh, Dad, can I ride the tube? You know I'm a snow dog!"
|
 |
"Look out Tuxie, I'm coming
fast!"
"I'm right behind you Sissy!" |
 |
"Geronimoooooo!!!!!!!!" |

A saxophone
sextet called Northern Colorado Winds played prior to the 6th grade
February band concert at the high school. The high school band teacher is
second from the left.
"Medley Upon Medley: Bach to Boogie." |
 |
Bubby and his partner
played a duet for the Concert of Ensembles.
"Camp Town Races..." |
 |
"Everyone together now...Scarborough Fair and
Auld Land Syne." |
 |
Big Bubby and his classmates in
the 12 week Jazz Band elective course gave a concert at the middle school.
Even though they had never played jazz or together as a jazz band before,
they performed a variety of tunes they had learned in just 40 hours.
"Wow, they sound GREAT!!!" |
 |
Big Bubby did four different
improvisational solos throughout the concert!
"Blues is My Favorite Color, Skitter with the Mice, Beale Street Boogie,
Low Down Slow Down Blues, Ibossa U, Swing Fever, Springs Awakening, and
Tickle Ya'! " |
