Bogan Flats Campground site #16.
White River National Forest.
Near Marble, CO.

"Right on the Crystal River...what a cool campsite!"

"I've learned my lesson...I'm going to get into the water verrrrrrrrrrry sloooooooowly... "
"Hi Daddy!"
Looking upstream.

"I'm completing my flow rate calculations and will do my decibel readings next."

Looking downstream.

"I'm not going to fall in...I'm not going to fall in...I'm not going to fall in..."

"Daddy made it all the way across the river, but he's soaking wet!"
"Me, too!"

Marble Plant Remains.
Marble, CO.

Columns like this one, used to support girders, are just about all that's left of the marble processing plant that was wiped out by a flood years ago.

"It's amazing how they built his column!"

"After we park Midnight, it's just a short hike up to the Marble Quarry. Can you see it behind us?"
"Wow, listen to the roar of the river as it drops through these waterfall sections! The narrow trail is along the right side...be careful!"
"Will this bridge hold up?"
"This bridge obviously didn't!"

"The roar of the water here makes you have to SCREAM to be heard!"

"Welcome to my rock pile! Take your pick!"

"Funny, Daddy, really funny. You're hilarious."

On the way to Crested Butte, we ran smack dab into a sheep herding operation.

"Keep an eye on Tux so he doesn't jump out the window!"

Lost Lake.
Near Kebler Pass.

"This is definitely going on our list of future places to camp!"

View of the Maroon Bells from Kebler Pass.

"Postcard, anyone?"

Crested Butte, CO.

"This place is like a cross between Estes Park and Leadville!"

"Hurry up and take the picture, Dad! Mexican Train is serious business!"

Redstone, CO.

"This is a neat, quaint little town!"

You can tell by the red color of the rocks how Redstone came about its name. The igloo shaped structures are actually ovens in which coal from the nearby mines was baked for purification and condensing purposes.

"Do we have to head back home, already???"
