October 2002
Dowdy Lake Campground site #27.
Roosevelt National Forest.

"A perfect getaway weekend to our favorite camping spot!"
"Hey Dad, the aspens are gorgeous!"

"Can you see Shadow way behind us?"

"Time to go climb some rocks!"

"Our first campfire in a looooong time! We're glad they finally lifted the fire ban! Just in time, because it sure is getting cold!"

"20 years ago, Mommy and Daddy got married! Happy Anniversary!"
Moraine Park Campground site #198.
Rocky Mountain National Park.

"Hey Dad, there's no better place to spend a three day weekend than out camping, right! October has got to be one of our favorite months to go camping!"
"We're surrounded by tent camping spots which are empty, so we pretty much have the place to ourselves!"
"Ahhhhhh, another warm fire on a cold night! Who is ready for smores? Dad, break out the Jiffy Pop!"
"It got below freezing last night! Thanks Dad for making a nice warm morning fire!
"Daddy, look at the cool mountain views here on the ridge behind our campsite!"
"I think I hear the elk! Can we go find them?"
"There they are, just lazily hanging around!"
"Wow, check out the antlers on this elk! When we first saw him swinging his antlers into a bush, we thought he was just cleaning them off or something. Then the Park Ranger told us it was to send a message to the other male elks to stay away from the females in his herd!"
"Our band came to the primary school to play some of our songs. Our band director had each section stand up. Since I'm first chair, he had me hold my saxophone the highest for the audience to see!"
"Glorioso, March of the Dragon Masters, and Canoan Echoes...we blew the audience away!"
"My teacher really liked my 50's sock hop Halloween outfit!"
"My teacher really liked my Zorro costume! "

"I'm freezing just standing here! Hurry up and take the picture, Dad!"

October 31 was the coldest Halloween in 50 years. The morning low was 13 degrees and the afternoon high was 19 degrees. The wind chill was 9 degrees at 4pm. With four inches of snow already on the ground from the past two days, it began snowing again at 5pm...

"Sorry kids, no trick or treating tonight!"

...the next morning.

"It's a good thing we have Shadow plugged in with an electric heater running inside, otherwise she'd freeze to death! Check out the icicles hanging from the awning! Brrrrrrrr!!!"

"I'm a SNOW DOG,
da dant daaa, da dant, daaa,
 I'm a SNOW DOG!"

"Hey, what's all this complaining about all the snow and freezing cold temperatures! I LOVE IT! I could stay outside and play in the snow ALL DAY!!!"

November 2002
AECT Annual International Convention.
Dallas, TX

"...and those are the secrets to Cyber-Nagging and Cyber-Schmoozing which increase online student retention and performance."
"It's great to see old friends from the University of Northern Colorado doctoral program. It took Ming Pu 24 hours to fly from Taiwan to Dallas to attend the convention...whew!"

"Check out the view of downtown Dallas from the roof of the convention hotel where we would exercise in the outdoor lap pool and relax in the whirlpool (yup, outside on the roof) after a long day of presentations and meetings!"

Special Music Program "Goin' Buggy!"

"...and no, no don't you spraaaaaaaaaay!"

"Wow, the gym was packed with parents!"

Solo.

"...that's no way to treat a Lady Bug, no, no way at all!"

Thanksgiving at Grandma & Grandpa's.
